When working with a photoperiod strain, it is possible to top your Cannabis plants as many times as you wish during the vegetative stage. Due to autoflowering strains not being photoperiod dependent, there is a short window to work with in regards to training autoflowers. The name topping or pinching just means the removal of the main crown shoot, resulting in two auxiliary shoots at the highest point of the plant. They offer similar benefits to topping, but none of the growth stunting stress. It just makes sense to give your fast-growing autos the best chance at reaching their potential, instead of stunting them and possibly reducing the final yield.
