In this exciting second episode of the Grow Tour, we continue our journey with Sebastian and Bernie as they visit Julian’s incredible homegrow operation in Hamburg. With the new cannabis laws in Germany allowing each person to cultivate up to three plants and possess up to 50g of cannabis, Julian is making the most of it, taking a unique approach to perpetual harvesting.
Julian doesn’t grow all his plants at once; instead, he staggers them with a few weeks of delay between each, allowing him to harvest mature plants every 3-4 weeks. With just one tent set to an 18/6 light cycle, he’s mastered the art of perpetual growing. After the legalization on April 1st, 2024, Julian jumped right in, discovering Fast Buds autoflowering seeds online. His setup combines living soil with synthetic supplements to maintain the health of his plants, especially if any deficiencies arise.
Like many new growers, Julian quickly fell in love with the process, finding joy not just in cultivating premium top-shelf cannabis, but in the entire growing experience itself.
A bit of a techie, he’s built an impressive system to monitor his grow, tracking environmental factors like humidity and temperature with sensors and even controlling his grow remotely while on vacation. He didn’t rely on any pre-made system, either – everything is DIY, from the cameras for timelapses to the environmental controls. Julian’s dedication doesn’t stop there.
When faced with fungus gnats, he did his own research, using a sand layer on top of his living soil to combat the problem. His hands-on approach and passion for our genetics, such as Banana Purple Punch Auto — especially their fast growth, strong terpene profiles, and potency — shine through in every aspect of his grow.
