What are Outlet Seeds
- 1. Fast buds outlet: top-quality seeds for the best buck
- 2. Proper seed storage
- 3. Pride in having the highest standards
We at Fast Buds maintain the highest standards from seed production to seed storage and perform germination tests on every new batch of seeds from every single autoflowering strain we produce. For over a decade now we’ve had our germination rates be amongst our number one priorities, making sure each and every single strain we put on the market test +95%, this means that any batch testing at 94% or lower would not be sold.
But over the years, looking at our competition, we’ve realized that customers are always looking for cheaper alternatives, so we decided to bring Fast Buds’ top-quality genetics to the public in our seed Outlet where you’ll find the same top-quality genetics with a slightly lower germination rate ranging from 80-94% at a super reduced priced. On top of that, all our seed stock is kept in specialized refrigerators that can maintain perfect storage conditions ensuring maximum viability for all our seeds.
1. Fast Buds Outlet: Top-quality Seeds for the Best Buck
Now you may think that our outlet seeds are seeds of lesser quality or just old seeds we have laying around but that’s far from the truth. In reality, our outlet seeds are the same exact genetics you find on our regular catalog page but at a reduced price. This can happen because of a couple of reasons:
First in, First out
Another reason why seeds could go to our outlet is that our team works with a first in, first out method in which the first batch of seeds we receive will be the first one to go out. But if it were to happen that the stock of a particular strain is not sold over a specified period of time, we make it available in our outlet at a reduced price as to always keep our seed stock fresh.
Perpetual selection
We are constantly selecting and improving our strains in order to bring our customers the best genetics on the market. This perpetual selection and breeding means that the new generation of seeds can have better traits than the previous generation such as improved potency, bigger yields, stronger terpene profile, etc… That means that the ‘previous version’ stock, which is still as fresh as it can be, goes entirely to the seed outlet. It's still the same genetics you love, but in its previous version at a better price.
Overproduction
Another reason is the overproduction of seeds. Sometimes we estimate a certain number of seeds, so our team gets their schedule organized and everything ready to process and package that number of seeds but nature is unpredictable and sometimes we receive more than expected. Because we try to always have all our strains in stock, these extra seeds are likely to end up in the outlet section as the extra hours needed to process them would delay our production line.
2. Proper Seed Storage
With proper storage, cannabis seeds can remain viable for anywhere between 5 to 10 years; even with improper storage, quality cannabis seeds will remain viable for at least 1-2 years while retaining the same qualities as newer or “fresh” seeds. This means that yes, decade-old seeds will germinate just like 2-3-months old seeds will as long as they’re properly stored.
Now, properly stored means properly stored; Even though it’s fine for the average home grower that plans on germinating the seeds in 90 days or so to store the seeds in a drawer, seed banks need to keep the whole seeds stock in a cool, dark, dry location.
This cool, dark, and dry location is basically a special type of refrigerator that can maintain a steady humidity and temperature, by comparison, the opening/closing of a regular household fridge (where food and water are) will cause the humidity and temperature levels to oscillate, which can damage your seeds.
3. Pride in Having the Highest Standards
We take pride in the quality of our seeds and we test every single seed batch, getting an average germination rate of 95% but as you may know, nature is not perfect and it’s possible for a seed batch out of a thousand to not reach our standards; This is why we have a limited stock of outlet seeds and why you won’t see all our varieties there, as it’s fairly uncommon for a batch to not pass our tests. In order to continue being one of the most renowned autoflower breeders, we do not sell anything with a germination rate lower than 95%, and this is why we came up with Fast Buds’ seed outlet.
We highly recommend checking our outlet section regularly as you will find a different selection of strains every time. Now, keep in mind that with outlet seeds you’re getting the same exact genetics, produced by the same breeders and stored the same exact way as all our stock, but with a slightly lower germination rate that can be as high as 94% and as low as 80%. This makes it possible for any grower to try top-quality autoflowers for half the price.
