Mike Bites: Tyson’s Edibles With a ‘Cannabalistic’ Flavor

Mike Tyson’s cannabis company has announced the start of the production of a new line of THC gummies that are red-colored and ear-shaped. It’s an allusion to the iconic match between Tyson and Evander Holyfield almost 25 years ago when the enraged contender bit off a chunk of his opponent’s ear.

According to a pic published on Tyson’s Twitter, designers didn’t spare any graphic details: the ears look as mangled as if Tyson has personally chewed on each one of them. Well, at least, he has tasted his new product to ascertain its deliciousness. The gummies will be sold in Massachusetts, Nevada, and California since Tyson 2.0 is now a company operating nationwide.

Former Opponents Are Now Partners?

Some weed enthusiasts may think that the whole idea—though it’s a brilliant marketing move—is rather in poor taste. After all, the 1997 match was a huge scandal that sent shockwaves through the world of boxing. As it is, the sport may be too brutal for the modern world, but Mike’s infamous bite was on yet another level. Many boxing enthusiasts feared that this would mark the start of the final countdown for the sport.

Fortunately, Holyfield was magnanimous enough to forgive his former sparring partner and a long-time rival. He said he too wasn't proud of many things he had done on the ring and off it, including biting a fighter’s shoulder. He didn’t tear a piece of flesh, though, and didn’t spit it out Walter Sobchak-style.

In 2019, Tyson first pitched to Hollyfield the idea of selling “holy ears”. It was during an episode of the podcast Hotboxin’ With Mike Tyson. It’s yet unclear whether Hollyfield will have a chunk of revenue from this venture. He probably will.

We hope the pic on the left doesn't put you off. "Holy ears" on the right look delicious.

From a Bad Place to the “Perfect Man”

Tyson’s early career was marred by violence, and the on-ring bloodshed wasn’t by far the worst thing he did back then. However, those who know the legend now say he’s a different man, “the perfect man” as the cannabis entrepreneur Rob Hickman described him.

The boxer himself claims that it was marijuana that made him a calm, wise, and level-headed person. Though Tyson doesn’t know the first thing about growing cannabis, he gives his personal seal of approval to every batch he sells. Rumors have it that the former champion smokes $40,000 worth of weed every month.
