Cannabis-infused bath salts are a great way of literally immersing yourself in marijuana, getting amazing health benefits at the same time. Whether you use THC and/or CBD bath salts, by soaking in them, the cannabinoids will influence the CB2 receptors in your skin, which in result stimulates the endocannabinoid system, who's in charge of keeping us balanced in many aspects, offering big health benefits.

2. How to Make Cannabis Bath Salts

To make cannabis-infused bath salts you'll need to follow two steps, making cannabis oil first, and then making the salts. Making the oil is easy and simple, so let's check the step by step guide to make cannabis oil and move on to the salts next.

How to make cannabis oil

Ingredients and Tools for Making Cannabis Oil

  • 15 - 30 gr of marijuana buds;
  • 500 ml of coconut oil;
  • Baking sheet;
  • Pot;
  • Stove;
  • Cheesecloth;
  • Rubber band;
  • Glass jar.

Making the Oil Step By Step

The first step to making cannabis oil is decarboxylating the buds, which means turning cannabis' raw components CBDA and THCA into the active components, CBD and THC. First, start by preheating the oven to 115 °C

Take an oven tray, set the baking sheet on it, and spread your marijuana buds on it after you're removed any stems. Part the flowers into smaller pieces and set them inside the oven for about 30 minutes, checking that they don't get burned.

Once you've decarbed your weed, grind your buds and mix them in a pot with the coconut oil. Stirring occasionally, place the mix on low heat for about an hour.

Taking the cheesecloth and the rubber band, attach it to the mouth of the glass jar for straining the oil. For this, you'll need the cheesecloth to form a slight cup shape in the jar.

When the mix is ready, strain the weed-infused oil through the strainer you've previously built, trying to get rid of the plant material as much as possible. Lastly, squeeze the cheesecloth to drain the final few drops.

Let it cool down and your marijuana oil is done! Once you've successfully made your cannabis oil you're now ready to make your marijuana bath salts.

Cannabis Bath Salts Ingredients and Tools

  • 400 gr of Epsom salts;
  • 14 gr of cannabis oil;
  • Essential oils (optional);
  • Glass jar;
  • Measuring cups and spoons.

Making the Bath Salts Step-by-Step

Once you've gathered the necessary ingredients and equipment for making the cannabis-infused bath salts, take the glass jar and add the 700 grams of Epsom salts and 14 grams of cannabis oil. Stir well until the salts are evenly covered in oil, but not wet.

If you want to add some extra fragrance you can add a few drops of essential oils to the mix. Some common options include lavender, rose, orange, and peppermint. The mix will be ready for use after letting it sit for 1 to 2 hours

How to Dose and Use the Cannabis Bath Salts

To use your homemade cannabis bath salts and get the most out of its benefits, use between 170 and 350 grams of the mix per bath and immerse yourself in it for at least 20 minutes

Warning

The oils in your bath salts are extremely slippery, so be careful that when you take your cannabis bath you keep this in mind and be cautious not to fall and hurt yourself.

However, keep in mind that taking a cannabis bath will not give you any psychoactive effects so there is no putting too much bath salts in your bath.

How to Make DIY Cannabis Bath Bombs

If you would rather make your own DIY cannabis bath bombs instead of bath salts then follow these easy 5 steps after you've already prepared the salts.

  1. Mix 150 gr of cannabis bath salts with 225 gr of baking soda, 115 gr of cornstarch, and 115 gr of citric acid;
  2. Add enough water to dampen the mix;
  3. Stir well until you get an even mix and the consistency is the one of damp sand;
  4. Place in spherical silicone molds;
  5. Let dry overnight.

3. Will Cannabis Bath Salts Get You High?

The first thing a new or non-frequent marijuana user might ask themselves is probably if cannabis bath salts will get them high or not. The short answer is no

If you use cannabis bath salts infused with only CBD content there is absolutely no way that you will get high from bathing in them. Likewise, in case you need to get a blood or drug test, this will not affect the results either.

Both getting high and drug tests require THC presence in your blood. However, even if your cannabis bath salts are THC loaded, there is still no possibility of getting high by taking a relaxing green bath. The duration of the bath is not going to affect this either.

The reason for this is because the cannabis oil in your salts won't be able to penetrate deep enough into your skin to reach your bloodstream, which is the only via for THC to get you high, through your blood.

So, after a cannabis bubble bath, yes you will most likely feel extremely relaxed but relaxed doesn't mean high.

And what about drug tests?

If the drug tests part is the one that's got you worrying, worry not! To this day there haven't been any reports of failed drug tests caused by topical cannabis products, including creams, lotions, and bath salts.

The only exception, in this case, would be high-THC transdermal patches which differ a lot from bath products or topicals. These patches were designed to deliver medication directly through the skin and into the bloodstream, over the course of hours and days.

So, if you need to get a drug test, although the chances of failing it are minimum, perhaps skipping cannabis products during the previous days would be the smartest move to dodge any possible inconveniences.
