Snoop Dogg Caught Smoking Weed Before His Super Bowl Performance
Snoop Dogg blazing one on camera is a familiar sight, but this time the rapper legend outdid himself. He was filmed taking several hasty puffs from what appears to be a blunt right before going on stage at a major television event—the Super Bowl LVI halftime show.
While Snoop Dogg was engaged in this unique pregame ritual backstage, Dr Dre was kicking off the show. Other stars of the epic performance at the SoFi Stadium on Sunday night included Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, Anderson Paak, and Eminem. There was also a surprise guest — 50 Cent.
Rap and Weed Go Well Together
Making a couple of tokes right before jumping onstage didn’t seem to hamper Snoop Dogg in the least. He was rapping cooly alongside other rap legends, sporting the colors of the Los Angeles Rams team. He was dressed in a bright blue sweatsuit with yellow stripes at the armholes. The team ended up defeating Cincinnati Bengals 23–20.
Fans Dissappointed
The iconic rapper is a long-time cannabis enthusiast and even has a strain of weed, Snoop Dogg OG, named after him. He has a reputation of lighting up during his performances, and fans were hoping he would do it this time.
Recreational use of marijuana is legal in California where the game took place, but the NFL maintains its stance against the substance. Dissappointed that the Doggfather didn’t defy the rules this time, some Twitter users mocked the headlines about him smoking weed of stage as the perfect example of non-news.
