Fast Buds Team Heads to Düsseldorf for the Universe BBQ Cannabis Cup: A Story of Success and Passion
The Universe BBQ Cannabis Cup is more than just a competition; it's a celebration of cannabis culture, innovation, and community. Held annually in Germany, this event brings together the best growers, breeders, and enthusiasts from around the world.

This year, our team made our way to Düsseldorf with one goal in mind—to continue the winning streak and further establish our reputation on the international stage.
Chubbs and the Papaya Cookies Auto™: A Winning Combination
Leading the charge was “Chubbs”, one of Fast Buds' star growers. Known for his meticulous cultivation techniques and deep understanding of cannabis genetics, Chubbs had already made a name for himself in the United States, where he had garnered multiple awards.
At the Universe BBQ Cannabis Cup, Chubbs decided to showcase his expertise with a dry sift entry made from our renowned Papaya Cookies Auto™. This strain, a favorite among connoisseurs for its sweet, tropical flavors and potent effects, proved to be a hit in Düsseldorf as well. The dry sift (a form of cannabis concentrate made by sifting the trichomes from the plant material), was a testament to Chubbs' skill in both cultivation and processing.
The competition was fierce, with many top-tier entries vying for the coveted titles. However, Fast Buds´ Papaya Cookies Auto™ dry sift stood out, earning us a well-deserved second place in the competition. This achievement was particularly significant as it marked our first German competition, and yet, we managed to shine on this new and challenging stage.
The Gas Cup and Cannafair Düsseldorf 2024
On top of the amazing time at the Universe BBQ Cup, our team got invited to judge at the Gas Cup, sampling over 100 entries of the finest local hash and flowers to declare the absolute winner of the Gas Cup 2024 edition.
Attending so many events was hard work, but our trip wasn’t over yet. Before heading back home, we had one stop left- Cannafair 2024 Düsseldorf where our team was especially pleased with the positive feedback on our seeds, as growers recognized the time and effort put into breeding our strains.
As the team returns from Düsseldorf, we bring back more than just a trophy—we carry with us the experience, inspiration, and motivation to continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in cannabis cultivation.
