Apricot Auto: Current Production Run
This is the current production run of Apricot Auto.
On the male side, we started with a selection of eight individuals. At this stage, all selected males show strong structure and uniform development. Over the next phase, this group will be reduced further down to the two best donors. In approximately one to one and a half weeks, the pollen sacs will begin to open. The timing is aligned so that the female plants reach full receptivity at the same moment.
On the female side, plants are now in week five and have entered pre-flower. Around half of the population has already stretched, and first stigmas are visible across all individuals. From the initial population, we are currently selecting down to approximately 130 females. A second round of selection will take place in the coming weeks, just before pollination.
At that stage, individuals that are significantly behind in development, more than one week, will be removed. Selection is primarily based on flowering timing, structure, and overall plant formation. Plants are currently grouped based on pre-flower timing, and will be reorganized again as structure and growth patterns become more defined.
This is how we align timing, structure, and selection to move the line forward.
