Apricot Auto: Our Most Stable Run Yet
This is the current production run of Apricot Auto, and so far, it’s the most stable run we’ve achieved with this line.
Male Selection and Testing
We started by selecting males from a population of around 30 individuals. After initial selection, all candidates were put through STS testing.
From there, the pheno #7 clearly stood out.
It showed the most vigorous structure, strong branching, and the most developed pollen sacs, so it was selected as the single donor for this run.
Female Development
On the female side, all plants are now at week five and showing a very consistent expression across the population.
Pollination is expected to begin within the next two to three days.
Increased Uniformity
What’s important here is the level of uniformity we’re seeing. Compared to previous runs, this one indicates that we’ve reached a much higher level of homozygosity in the line.
Because of that, we’re confident using a single donor in this generation to further fix the traits.
Apricot Auto has always been one of our strongest lines, especially for extraction. It’s proven itself multiple times in competitions and remains one of our best “washers.”
This run is about locking that performance in and pushing the line to its most consistent expression so far.
Selection continues.
